The team at SymfoniP love media in all its various facets and we have covered just about all possible variations of Audio plugins for RapidWeaver for over three years ever since the first release of the Stacks Plugin from Yourhead. Something that has not really been tackled has been integrating streaming radio stations to your RapidWeaver powered web site until now.

RadioBox our latest Stack element aims to address this with a simple clean HTML5 (Flash were required) Player and integrated ‘channel’ list for your ShoutCast Radio streams.

If you are building or managing a site for your local or community radio station and they have already have a ShoutCast mp3 stream already setup then you can use this new Stack to manage - ‘channels’ via a dynamic Google Spreadsheet list, effectively a ShoutCast stream! - Artwork for each ‘channel’ - Native MP3 HTML5 Audio (kind to your iDevices) and automatic Flash Player playback

No coding experience is required to create the actual player itself and we have already provided a sample setup already built into the RadioBox Stack configuration . Sample channels and information on what you need to do to create the channel/stream list for the player is covered in our User Guide.

Requirements

• A ShoutCast radio stream
• A public (that is published to the web) Google doc matching the format we describe in our User Guide for the channel list
• channel artwork is optional but can be anywhere public on your website or even in public Dropbox folder

Limitations

• only one RadioBox stack in a page for now
• no mixing in the same page with other MusicBoxes or our other Audio players
• will not display individual song information from what is currently in the stream

Support exceptions

Out-with standard support in resolving defects on actual code. Given the varied setup and time consuming nature of Shoutcast itself, this is why we include a sample setup already ! , if you need personal assistance in discovering your Shoutcast mp3 stream or wish support in getting the player working with your Shoutcast service provider you can purchase a suppport pack directly from our Support Site.

• Audio tracks already encoded as mp3, 128Kbs fixed rate provides the best results , remember this is the web we are talking about
• playlist configuration file needs to be publicly accessible for MusicBox to access it
• of course a Google Spreadsheet … we talk about that setup in our User Guide too. A public DropBox text file, or even a public file that is maintained on your web server.

If you are like me and you wanted to have the content from your WordPress posts and pages inside RapidWeaver but were put off by a messy integration job with Themes. Then , you will find this new Stack released from SymfoniP very useful

What does it do?

Simply, this new stack element will retrieve the raw HTML code generated inside your WordPress Post or Page (it is all the same to us ) and then have this displayed in your preferred RapidWeaver web site. A powerful connector for WordPress CMS to RapidWeaver without the usual pain involved in ‘hacking ’ a beautiful RapidWeaver Theme to fit.

You have a link to an image or a video file or you even added an iframe link to YouTube or Vimeo this data is all preserved when it is dynamically transferred to your Stacks Page.

All post editing is made in the WordPress post giving you or your clients remote editing functionality , saving you time re-publishing your RapidWeaver project whenever there are changes to be made.

You can also mix and match additional stack elements in your RapidWeaver Stacks page if you so wish to have something that will remain static :)

SimpleBox Stack has now been updated. Whilst it was functioning in Stacks 2 pages, there was a small defect that stopped the correct background ‘fade’ color from showing up.

New in this release Version 2:

- fade color resolved for Stacks2

- grouping information in the Stacks 2 library

- auto update (sparkle) engine in place for subsequent releases
